9v9 (U11-U12)
Training Philosophy and Curriculum:
Continued focus on technique while introducing small and large scale tactical applications and ideas. Technique is similar to U8-U10 but is more advanced and should be executed in with less time and space. Incorporating individual technique with tactics in lines (defensive line, etc.) and tactics in small groups (2v1, 3v2, etc.). At U12, proper introduction of heading technique. Training methodology is a mixture of “game-based”, “progression” and “Play-practice-play”. There is continued focus on working together within small groups and incorporating small-sided games to help players learn and understand the 9v9 tactical concepts. Curriculum topics will be taught in three four week phases in the fall and three four week phases in the spring.
Teams/Rosters:
U11 and U12 Teams will play 9v9 and have 10-14 players on each roster.
League Play:
U11 and U12 Teams will play in a combination of OSPL/COPL/OCL divisions and also NPL and other higher level leagues when needed.
